Ranorex, TFS, Visual Studio 2013 Integration Please

Post by AdamH » Wed Jan 22, 2014 11:47 am

Hi,

I would like to know when integration of
  • Ranorex 4.1.4
    TFS
    Visual Studio 2013
is planned please.

I have the above setup and tried connecting to our projects source control server today. I got to the point where it wanted to install MSCCI Provider plugin but only the 2010 and 2012 variants were listed. I installed the 2013 variant that I downloaded from the MS website but unfortunately no luck with getting a TFS connection.

I take it at this point MS Visual Studio 2013 integration is not yet supported so I'm reverting back to MS Visual Studio 2012. I hope that MS Visual Studio 2013 integration will be coming soon...

Thanks.

Hey Adam,
Here, this might help: http://www.ranorex.com/forum/tfs-and-ra ... t5538.html
Install the provider, then install the Team foundation explorer from the MS website.
Then connect to the server from Rx.

Thanks for the response.

I've given it a scan but unfortunately I think it pertains to integration with Visual Studio 2012. I've tried installing the 2013 version of the MSCCI plugin but no joy unfortunately. Hopefully someone one will have experience of using the Visual Studio 2013 TFS tool with the current version of Ranorex. Or be able to say that this isn't yet supported...

Hi Adam,

It should work when the version numbers of Visual Studio (Team Explorer) and of the MSSCCI Provider match.
It is right that there is no link for the 2013 Provider but it should work when you manually install it.
We also tested it and in our case it works as expected.

Regards,
Markus

Many thanks for the response (apologies for the slow reply but the current project is hectic).
When I get a chance I'll upgrade to Visual Studio 2013 again but right now I'm having to work with 2012. Good to know that this will work though... :)
