Ranorex with TeamCity

Post by QAMember1 » Fri Oct 30, 2015 6:37 pm

We are running into issues with using TeamCity to build the Ranorex project. Using MSBuild, the project is build and the artifacts are added correctly (all the items from the bin directory). But when we move the artifacts to another VM to run the test suite, we run into missing DLL error.

The VM where are are running the test suite has Ranorex 5.4.0 installed with runtime license. Not sure why moving the items of bin directory from TeamCity to this VM would be an issue.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

Copying content of bin folder is only a first step. If there is no Ranorex installed on the target machine, you need to copy also Ranorex runtime libs and license. I would suggest to check this article, where are described all required steps...

As I mentioned, Ranorex is installed and has a valid runtime license on the target machine.

Anyone else run into this or similar issue that can provide some guidelines on how we can overcome this issue?

Hello QAMember1,

Please check if you’re using the same version of Ranorex on both machines.
Hope this helps.

Regards,
Robert
