Hi there,
We are noticing that our Ranorex License Server is using one core permanently on one of our AWS instances.
Is there a way of reducing the amount of CPU this process uses?
Right now we have several license keys, would consolidating these help performance?
(Premium 3, Premium 4, Runtime 8, RunTime 1, RunTime 3, Runtime 1)
Over time we've added more licenses to cope with demand.
We are running a 5.3.2 Ranorex License Server
Looking in the logs, taking a subset of 2 hours I can see 25 validations which doesn't seem too excessive
Happy to provide to a Ranorex support person a screen shot of Performance Monitor and these logs
Thanks,
Aaron

Hi Aaron,

I guess there isn't any program out there, which doesn't need CPU usage to run? Also on our site, the license manager uses a ~7mb memory and nearly 0% CPU (running an Intel I7 6700K). There's definitely no way to further cut down the CPU usage of the Rx license manager. We are noticing that our Ranorex License Server is using one core permanently on one of our AWS instances.

Re: RanorexLicenseServer.exe CPU Usage
Do you mean it's permanently using 100% of the core or just 1-2%? 100% would definitely be weird and something to investigate on.aaron.mckay wrote:We are noticing that our Ranorex License Server is using one core permanently on one of our AWS instances.
BTW, you are using a pretty old version of the license manager. You should update to the latest License Manager Version (currently 7.0.1, the license manager is backwards compatible to older client versions), download it from here:
