Hi,
I have reecently started looking at V3.0 and when I run a recorded test i get the error below stopping me from being able to re-run tests. I can overcome this by renaming the mentioned file, however this is not practical to do continuosly. Also I am unable to delet the file as it is write protected.
Is there anyway i can supress this file or stop it being created? do I need this file?
Unexpected error creating debug information file 'c:\Documents and Settings\chris.wright\Local Settings\Temp\Recording1.Runner.PDB' -- 'c:\Documents and Settings\chris.wright\Local Settings\Temp\Recording1.Runner.pdb: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
Regards
Chris

Re: Recording1.Runner.PDB
Hi,
Could it be possible that another process which was not closed correctly lock the files?
For example a Ranorex Recorder hangs in the Task-Manager and lock the files, but the GUI is gone and no more visible. Then another process is not able to access the files. So please check Task-Manager or other programs which can access the file.

Peter

Hi Peter,
thanks for your reply. I have just reproduced this error and check Task Manager. when i close Ranaorex it clears from the Task Manager list.
my only temporary work around is to re-name these files, this however is obviously not ideal.
cheers
Chris

Hi,
This issue occurs only a few times or every time you do some actions with Ranorex?
Are you starting Ranorex with Administrator privileges, maybe the UAC locks the file. I would suggest you to always start Ranorex with Administrator rights, because without this privileges it can cause problems.

Hi,
you can start Ranorex with Adminstrator Privileges either by rigth-clicking on the shortcut of Ranorex and choosing "Start as Administrator" from the context menu for one time use, or right-clicking on the shortcut of Ranorex, open the properties menu from teh context menu and at the "Compatibility" tab choosing "Run this Program as Administrator" for all time use.
Kind regards,
Tobias

The problem reported in this thread is a consequence of the problem reported in the following forum thread:

The PDB file is locked because the last replay did not correctly exit. Please, see this forum thread for news on this topic.
