Remote Ranorex minimum bandwidth requirements?

Post by Charlie_CYB » Tue Dec 04, 2018 12:28 pm

Hello,
We're currently reviewing Ranorex as a tool for remote automated testing, I could not find any documentation that listed the information we need so I'll ask here, what is the absolute minimum required bandwidth and what would the recommended bandwidth required for this purpose?

Cheers - Charlie

Hi,

Could you please elaborate, what exactly do you want to achieve?

In my opinion, bandwidth is more or less irrelevant in case of remote testing. The test is always executed on target machine! In other words, if you are planning to use Ranorex remote agents, the test is actually moved to the target machine and started on that remote machine. So if your test is quite large, with a lot of external files and data connectors, it may take some time before all required files are transferred to remote machine, but then it should work the same as if started on local machine (depending on target machine speed).
