Renaming Project Folder - unable to find folder message

Post by alina » Tue Nov 18, 2014 3:17 pm

Hi, I created a Ranorex Solution/ Project and have been working on it a few days, all working fine.

I decided to change the name fo the Solution/Folder etc and did this on the hard drive.
I attempted to open this via Ranorex and couldnt, i was getting a warning message, Unable to find Project file.
So i renamed it back to what it was called originally and still getting the same error.

Hope smeone knows the solution to this. Thanks

Hi,

I guess you are getting this error after clicking the "Recent Project" link, displayed if you start the Studio, right? This link is no longer valid since you renamed the project. You need to open the project via File >> Open >> Project/Solution menu.

Additionally, don't forget that renaming the project directory is not enough! You need to update the name references also in *.rxsln and *.sln files! Open them in a text editor, search strings containing the old name and change them with new one. Hope this helps?
