Repository / items not stored in the right created folder

Post by Florent » Thu Feb 14, 2013 6:11 pm

Hi Support team,

I've created many folders in my repository in order to reach an accurate organization that should simplify my work. Unfortunately, some recorded items are not stored in the right created folder.

It concerns windows that i have based the recognition on the accessiblename property. It always contain a fix part and a variable part : surname + NAME + age + current date. I want to remove the variable parts, so age + current date, otherwise windows will not recognized by Ranorex tomorrow.

So i have create the following folder :

Code: Select all

element[@accessiblename~'surname\ NAME']
During a recording, when i click on a element of this windows, items are not stored the created folder of my repository. They are stored out of the folder with the following path : surname + NAME + age. So i have to manualy remove the variable part from the RanorexPath of each items after all recording and then i put them in the folder. it makes the work much longer.

Is there a solution to avoid that ?

Thank you in advance
See you soon

Hi,
I just watched your Ranorex video tutorial.
Thanks to the function "Optimize Folder Path", i work faster but it would be perfect if the elements could be stored in the right folder.
See u

Hi,

There are some situations where it could be that the items will be stored in a wrong folder.
We are working to improve this with the next minor release (4.1), but this is not so easy to handle so it could be that there will be still some smaller problems with folders and there "children".

Regards,
Markus
