Reusing Recording files without Repository items

Post by Narendra » Tue Oct 29, 2019 1:06 pm

We have 2 projects A and B. Recently we added 10 recordings in project A and somehow the repository items got effected. We kept the copy of .cs, .rxrec & usercode.cs files of those 10 recordings and not repository files.

Is there any way, to reuse those 10 recordings back again without using previous Repository items?

Hello Narendra,

What do you mean by "effected"? Do you mean deleted? Do you have any idea how and why this happened?
You can still use the recordings, but you will have to re-track the repository elements into a new repository and then select that as the repository for all 10 recording modules. Then you have to assign the specific repository elements to individual actions.

The questions is, how complex these recordings are? If they are just a series of recorded steps, then it is maybe not worth it to separately track every missing element int he AUT. Is it going to be faster to find all the elements or is it going to be faster to completely re-record the 10 recording modules?
