hi,
in DataSource Dialog, you can't save a SQLDataConnector if the ConnectionString is invalid. If you want to close the DataSource Dialog with Ok button or hit the Apply button you get the error message "ConnectionString is invalid". Only if you enter a valid ConnectionString you can close this dialog and continue work.
Scenario: we develop our Ranorex tests in different networks. In one of them we don't have access to the database server. In that Network we can't enter the database servername in ConnectionString.
Workaround: we open *.rxtst in text Editor and enter the servername manually.
Suggestion: You only get an info message "ConnectionString is invalid" but you can still save and close the DataSource Dialog.
regards
