Re: Text property is not displayed in Ranorex
Hi odklizec , Upgrading to the latest version didn't help. Please see the snapshot in attachment. And this is a blocker for automation team. ( As for the setting, we have now WPFImprovedOnly set (by default). And we'd like not to change it, because a huge part of the automation is already complete a...

Re: Ability to programmatically detect a text under mouse pointer
Automatic tests are about consistency, not about the speed of playback. The speed of playback is critical when we automate smoke tests which run every time a new build is done. Detecting "something" under mouse, without precise identification of element, is sure way to mess and inconsistent behavio...

Re: Ability to programmatically detect a text under mouse pointer
But how do you know the mouse is above a cell at all? In this scenario to speed up the process I don't use xPath of the cells in the grid. I only use a column header name (detected by xPath very quickly) and click relative to this particular header. The click happens outside the element border but ...

Re: Ability to programmatically detect a text under mouse pointer
Hi odklizec, There is no problematic table. There is a table with many rows of data (each row contain many many cells). I need a way to detect a cell value (Text) right at the mouse pointer (in order to avoid getting all the rows because it's very long operation) to be able to shift mouse pointer to...

Ability to programmatically detect a text under mouse pointer
Hello everyone, Suppose we have a huge dynamic grid with a lot of rows. And in one scenario we need to click some cells in one particular column of data. But there is one condition: if the cell is empty or has 0 value - we should shift mouse cursor to the next position and click that one (if the ear...

Re: Instant object detection in Spy but very slow in the Studio for the same DevExpress control
Thank you, odklizec,
it seems an official ticket is really needed because I guess the issue could be investigated by developers.
I'll submit it soon.

Re: Instant object detection in Spy but very slow in the Studio for the same DevExpress control
Ok, my Windows say that I already have this or newer version of .NET.
And here's a snapshot from Ranorex 8.3 machine.
Any other ideas?
It's kind of blocker in test automation development for our software...

Ok, I'll try to install .NET Framework 4.0 Extended and see if it helps..
Btw, I don't use standalone Spy! I just clicked Edit in Spy link in Repository tree.

Re: Instant object detection in Spy but very slow in the Studio for the same DevExpress control
Hi, I made a snapshot on another computer. It doesn't matter. Situation is the same on Ranorex 8.3 (with whitelists etc). How come technology limitation doesn't affect Spy which detects the same control instantly? (you can see it at the end of the video I posted above). Why the behavior of Spy and S...

Thanks for reply and recommendations!
Upgrade to Ranorex 8.3 (from 8.2) didn't help.
Import/export settings from Spy to Studio didn't help.
Adding to whitelist didn't help either.
Also I've attached a snapshot.
OSs: Windows 7 (x64) - physical machine, Windows 10 (x64) - virtual machine

Instant object detection in Spy but very slow in the Studio for the same DevExpress control
Hello everyone, We're facing some issue that looks like a bug. Our SUT was built with DevExpress components. Some controls are detected very slowly in Ranorex Studio (more than 10 seconds). But when we open it using Spy it detects those controls INSTANTLY! The xPath looks pretty ordinary: /form[@con...

Some minor issues that impair the Ranorex usability
Hey guys! I haven't found a separate thread for some tiny issues that impair the Ranorex (8.0.1) experience so I've decided to create a new post. 1) In case when a repository window contains elements with long paths, every time you click some rows in actions grid, this window scrolls horizontally to...
