Some Forms cause Ranorex Studio/Spy object Tracker to freeze

Post by uhmdown » Thu May 04, 2017 8:16 pm

I have a very specific form in our SUT that causes the Ranorex Spy to freeze as long as the form is present.

As soon as I close the form, Ranorex Spy gets unfrozen.

Ranorex Spy freezes when it's doing any kind of scanning and that form is present. That means during startup, during tracking, during live tracking (left Ctrl+Windows key), etc
(and it happens also when using the tracker from Ranorex Studio)

Of course, I don't know what's so special about this form. Has anybody else seen this?

(I'm running Ranorex 7.0, the SUT is WPF, C#)

Hello uhmdown,

I assume that you are not able to create a Ranorex Snapshot of the corresponding form in this specific case.

May I ask which WPF plugin is currently enabled (WpfOnly, UiaOnly etc.)? This option can be found in the settings dialog of Ranorex Studio or Ranorex Spy.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
Johannes

You assume correct. Ranorex Studio/Spy is completely frozen if the Form is present.

It's WpfOnly.

Is it possible to acquire some logging output for Ranorex Spy?
