Strange warning regarding security permissions

Post by FelixK98 » Tue Aug 02, 2016 8:03 am

Hi Everyone,

I am running tests for Web App against web server (IIS) which installed on the same PC with Ranorex Studio.
I got very strange warning:
The automating process does not have the required security permissions to access the process 'InetMgr'. UI element identification capabilities for controls in that process are limited.
The following website provides more information on this technology limitation:
http://www.ranorex.com/support/user-gui ... html#c3252
(This message is only shown once per report.)
This warning appears in report after line with browser opening:
Opening web site 'http://localhost/gidget.webui/' with browser 'Chrome' in maximized mode.
I am starting Chrome browser with URL to local host and browser runs under my local user (which is in Administrators group for my PC) as well as Ranorex Studio.

Can someone explain me what is it? And probably let me know some way to get rid of this warning.

Thanks,
Felix.

Hello Felix,

Can you verify Ranorex is started as an Admin?(Right Click Ranorex Studio> Run as Administrator).

Can you verify what OS you are running this on?

Hello Felix,

Thank you for your response.

Please make sure you "Enhanced Protection Mode" is disabled for all Security Zones (Tools>InternetOptions).

Additionally, disabled UAC.
