Testing Web Applications on Mobile Broswers

Post by Elizabeth.Mertl » Mon May 13, 2013 12:36 pm

Hallo!
We will be creating a Web Application which will be used with browsers for mobile devices as well as for desktop. We would like to know from Ranorex if they have a suggestion how we could go about automating cross browser testing with includes the mobile Browsers (we would just use an Emulator like Opera Emulator to test). The application will be based on ASP.NET MVC4. So far we have not come accross any suggestions or tutorials how to do this in your documentation.

Thanks in advance for the reply!
Regards
Elizabeth

Hello Elizabeth,

In order to test mobile web sites in your iOS device or simulator, you can use our already instrumented RXBrowser app. Unfortunately it is not possible to use another browser to test websites on iOS at the moment.
Unfortunately it is not possible to test websites in Android at the moment.
We are searching for a solution to test your web pages with Android at the moment.
Please let me know if you need any further information or assistance.

Regards,
Bernhard

Hallo Bernhard!
Thank you for your reply. We do hope Ranorex would find a way to automate GUI Tests for Web Applications which will be used by multiple devices with their respective browsers.
We were hoping that there can be way to start a browser, for example like Crome or even IE with different User Agent and a normal Web Test with Ranorex would be a way. But I was not sure how or if it is possible at all.
For now we will have to live with what we have :) .
Regards
Elizabeth

Hello Elizabeth,

Have you already read our blog "Cross-Browser Test Automation with Ranorex"?
This blog describes how to execute the recorded tests with different browsers on Windows PCs (normal web tests).

Bernhard
