Hey Guys!
After an update from 3.0.0 to 3.0.1, the Error "TestSuite XML Format is invalid" appears on opening an project. After clicking the OK-Button the project will be opened, but the Test Suite is empty.
Kind Regards
Stefan

Re: TestSuite XML Format is invalid
Hi Stefan,
Would it be possible to send us the project?
Then we can take a look on it to check what's wrong.
Thanks in advance.

Re: TestSuite XML Format is invalid
Hi Stefan,
I already sent you the corrected TestSuite file. It seems there was duplicate GUID inside your XML and therefore this error happens. Ranorex 3.0.1 causes this problem, because the check are more consequent.

Re: TestSuite XML Format is invalid
have the same problem
is there anything I can do to solve the problem - maybe edit the xml file (which I can't find) to make one of those IDs unique?
All the best!
D.
p.s. using 3.1.0

Re: TestSuite XML Format is invalid
ha! I think I got it:
- the file to be edited is the project's .rxtst (xml format);
- for me it happend after I copy-pasted a recording from a test case to another (should be ref)
- the duplicate ID you get displayed in the error message so, I just modified it (i.e. one of the two instances) slightly (made a "c" out of the ending "a")
<testmodule name="KillApp" id="b6b36bff-32b2-4d77-b28e-f6753edee0da" ref="d9c0faab-f003-4295-b243-5fec434d371b" type="Recording"/>
and tadaaaa!
not sure if the right way to do it, but it seems to work - Support could correct me if I'm wrong!

Re: TestSuite XML Format is invalid
Hi,
But this should not happen if you copy a Recording, therefore can you send us the exact steps which leads to this issue?
You are using the new 3.1 am i right?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can edit the GUID to make it unique again. This "Globally unique identifier" are used to uniquely identify the different modules of Ranorex.not sure if the right way to do it, but it seems to work - Support could correct me if I'm wrong!
