Toolbar elements are not recognisable - Powerbuilder

Application : Powerbuilder (11)
Ranorex : 8.3 V


Hi Team,

I started testing recently an application developped in PowerBuilder technology, I found a problem in tracking objects in that application GUI, the toolbar is identifying as element i need to click on Particular tab.We are in urgent need and looking for some workaround.

Hi,

I remember several posts discussing powerbuilder and its untraceable controls. I'm afraid, there is not much you can do about this. I would suggest you to check this post:

Try to examine the problematic control(s) with MS Inspect tool. If the control can be accessed with Inspect, then it's something Ranorex folks should check. Otherwise, your only hope is GDI capture, which may help you to identify problematic controls. Basically, the unrecognizable controls are most probably not written with accessibility in mind and therefore, Ranorex (and I guess MS inspect too) cannot identify them.
