Tracking while mouse load on Spy

Post by rsudhak » Fri Jun 12, 2020 12:07 pm

HI,

I have a progress dialog which fails to be identified by spy .
Through instant recording, it fails to track element as the mouse is loading (in use)

I am having issues with this dialog and want to add a custom method to wait for this progress bar to disappear, is there a possible way to do so ....
Also is there a way to wait while the process is not Idel or mouse is loading which could resolve this issue

Thanks,
Rajee

Hi,

What I'm doing, in similar cases, is storing entire app UI (or parent element of problematic dialog) via Create Snapshot action. This way you can examine problematic dialogs or elements, which are hard to track.

As for the "wait while process is not idle", there is definitely no "out of the box" action like this.

  • Ranorex Snapshot. Learn how to create one >here<
  • Ranorex xPath of problematic element(s)
  • Ranorex version
  • OS version
  • HW configuration

I am not able to get the form XPath, its a separate dialog that appears, I have tried recording too, but nothing related to the progress bar dialog gets recorded. I believe to create snapshot I need to have the rxpath of the element which I am not able to

I did try to guess the dialog title, but no luck:

Method.invokeCalculatedialog();
Ranorex.Core.ElementSnapshot snap = Ranorex.Core.ElementSnapshot.Capture(".//form[@title~'Calculate']", true);
snap.SaveToFile(@"C:\rajee\calsnap",false);

Error I get is:
No element found for path './/form[@title~'Calculate']' at step '' after 1 attempts within 10s

Hello rsudhak,

Please remove the .// from the RanoreXPath and try to use this RanoreXPath: /form[@title~'Calculate']
