UC Browser

Post by alan722 » Mon Sep 12, 2016 3:57 pm

Hi

Does Ranorex provide support for UC Browser for desktop?
If not, are there any plans to include this?

I am asking because our company has included this browser and will be using it more often.

Ranorex supports only IE, Edge, Firefox, Chormium (including Chrome and some other Chromium-based browsers), and Safari, on Windows only. On Android and iOS, they only support RXBrowser (which is based on Chromium mobile).

If UC Browser on PC is based on FF or Chromium, then it might be supported already if you add the required Ranorex browser plugin/extension.

If it isn't based off of one of those, then it is highly unlikely that they will add support for it unless/until it gets more market share because it is a lot of work to add support for another browser, including future maintenance, and it is not worth the cost if there isn't a large need for it.
