Unable to access MSAA flavour type Objects

Post by muditforyou » Mon Aug 11, 2014 6:35 am

Hi,

I'm trying to automate an application named Traccess CI. Ranorex is able to identify the menu bar(please refer attached app image) highlighted in red color but unable to identify buttons inside the menu bar and other elements highlighted in green color. I have also attached snapshot of my repository. Help me to indentify the invisible objects through Ranorex.

Thanks,
Mudit

Hello Mudit,

In order to identify objects Ranorex needs accessibility to be implemented. Often custom 3rd party provided controls are not build with accessibility in mind. As a workaround you can implement accessibility for this object on your own. For further information, please check out our blog:
http://www.ranorex.com/blog/enabling-au ... s-controls

Also, you can add the element to the GDI capture list, which increases the object recognition significantly:

Additionally, please try to identify those elements using Microsoft Inspect (set to MSAA). If you cannot identify the elements, accessibility was not correctly implemented.

Regards,
Robert
