Unable to identify the UI elements in Chrome

Post by TLC_NB » Wed Mar 30, 2016 4:06 pm

I tried to automate our product by launching it in Google chrome ( UI of our product doesn’t support other browsers like IE, Firefox etc).Even after instrumenting the chrome Ranorex is not able to identify the fields like textbox for username and password ,instead it chooses the whole page .
It worked fine while i uninstalled and reinstalled the chrome but again after restarting my computer it stopped identifying the UI elements. Am i doing anything wrong or missing something ? Is there a checklist that i should look into before i start recording

Hello TLC_NB,

Welcome to the Ranorex forum.

First, please double-check if the Ranorex extension is enabled in Chrome.
Please also have a look at the user guide section concerning Chrome instrumenation.

May I ask if you get any warning message when you try to track the web elements with Ranorex Spy?

It would be great if you could send the Ranorex Snapshot of the web page to [email protected]. This would help me analyzing the issue.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Johannes
