Unable to record and play window application from work

I am new to Ranorex. I’m within the trial period, installed the trial version of Ranorex 5.2.2 in my work PC running tests on Windows 7.

First I tried to execute Ranorex from home remotely. I was able to record and play window and web application while working from home.

I am not able to record the same window application when I connect Ranorex from work after couple of days. I was not even able to record the window application that comes along with Ranorex. But I can able to record web application at work and from home.

When I try to record window application at work, after selecting the window application location, press the start button on the New Recording window, application opens, and Ranorex Recorder starts running, but unable to move the mouse in to the window application. (Unable to move the mouse over a UI element)

I am able to execute the same window application when I connect from home remotely.

I unstalled ranorex then installed it. Nothing work out. Please advise me how to resolve this problem.

Hello Suganthi,

Welcome to our forum.

As far as I understood correctly, you recorded your test using your machine at work? It shouldn’t make any difference if you’re remotely connected or directly sitting in front of the machine. Within your second paragraph you mentioned that you connected Ranorex from work. May I ask you to further explain why you need to connect to Ranorex? Isn’t it installed on your machine at work?

Further, it would be great if you could give more information about the inability to move your mouse over an UI element. Was the mouse locked? Did you get any error messages?

Thanks Robert.

I installed Ranorex at my work PC. But first I connected from home remotely. I was able to record and play window application when I connect from home.

After couple of days I tried at work , It didn't give any error message , but unable to move the mouse over to the UI element , unable to select the field for recording. I'm unable to do recording since mouse isn't moving in to the window. Mouse moves every where other than the UI element area.

Still I can able to record and play window application from home remotely.

I unstalled and reinstall ranorex , nothing work out. Please advise me how to resolve this probelm.
