Uninstall the license from Machine 1 and use in Machine 2

Dear Support Team,

We are using few licenses in offshore machines. Due to the resource reduction happened at offshore, we need to hand-over the licenses to onsite, for using them in few onsite machines for Script Execution.

Can you please suggest how this activity to be performed.

The license type is machine-locked licenses.

Dear Team,

My question here is....

In the "Install Ranorex License" utility, if we uninstall the license by click on "Uninstall License", which will uninstall from the Machine 1 and use the same license in Machine 2 ? Is that the procedure...? I just want to confirm it. Please reply.

Hi,

To transfer a license to another machine you have to uninstall the license on the first machine (like you did) and then contact support_at_ranorex.com, please, in order to mark the license for transfer on our license authentication server.

Please also put following information in your email:
  • license key
  • new computer name
  • old computer name

I ran into an issue where I uninstalled Ranorex from PC1 without remembering that I needed to install the license. So I then had to reinstall Ranorex just to be able to uninstall the license. Boo. Uninstalling ranorex should uninstall the license.

Support has been notified about this issue, but I just wanted to note it in the forum somewhere so someone avoids making the same mistake that I did.

Hi,

I will add this issue as feature request to our internal bug tracking system.
BTW, you don't have to install Ranorex to uninstall the license. You can simply delete the license file using the Windows Explorer.

Here are the locations:
Windows 7
C:\Users\All Users

Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data
