Validating a value in a row

Post by gary » Wed Dec 07, 2016 3:51 pm

Hi

I am new to Ranorex and we are currently using version 5.4 with trial licence key.

Kindly refer to the screenshot which I have attached for your reference. My question is that how do I make Ranorex verify that the New Cash added on 07/12/2016 is £250 ? I have no coding experience therefore would prefer and option under record and play if applicable.

Thank you for help & support in advance.

Regards
Gary

Hi Gary,

I'm afraid, there is no screenshot attached to your post. Anyway, screenshots are usually useless in such cases. Please post a Ranorex snapshot instead (learn how to create one >here<).

Additionally, Ranorex 5.4 is way too old and no longer supported. Please download the latest version 6.2, which is the most recent version of Ranorex with many enhancements and fixes. It's definitely pointless to start with 5.4 trial if there is much more recent version available ;)

Hi odklizec

Unfortunately due to our IT infrastructure restrictions Ranorex 6.2 isn't compatible so we have to stick with 5.4 onyl. How do I attach the snapshot here ? Thanks

It should be possible to upload a file to the post via "Upload Attachment" tab (located under Save/Preview/Submit buttons). If you don't see such tab, you are probably not allowed (yet) to upload files. I believe as a new member of this forum, you need to make certain number of posts (I guess 10) first? Anyway, you should be able to upload the snapshot to a 3rd party file sharing/cloud service (like onedrive, or dropbox) and then post a simple link here.

As for 6.2 incompatibility with your infrastructure, could you please specify what's the problem? You see, because 5.4 is no longer officially supported, it will be very hard for you to work with it in a very near future. Support may not be able to help you with your problems and some questions you might post here may get unanswered. Not to mention all answers you will get will be based on most recent version of Ranorex. So if you now post the snapshot for your recent problem and I or anyone else here will suggest something, it will be based on 6.2 or newer and the solution may or may not work with Ranorex 5.4!

Hi odklizec

Just another question. As part of our process, the system in test is required to produce letters. How would I make Ranorex verify if the content (like name, address, dob) in the letter is correct ? Thanks
