Ranorex Remote: No update of run history?

Hi,

I am using Ranorex 7.1.0.

I set up a Ranorex agent on a different machine in the same network. The agent is displayed in the Agents list in Ranorex Studio as "Idle", so there is a connection.
When I start a remote test, the state of the agent never changes and the Stop button is never activated. But the test run is executed nonetheless and the agent is busy during that time.
When the test run is finished, the run history is not updated immediately. I can see the recent results only if I restart Ranorex Studio.

Why is there no immediate feedback on the execution of the remote test?

Hello uschumac,

There is now only the api port (default 8081) and no separate messenger port. This issue was known before and the solution was to change the messenger port.

Could you anyway try to change the api port? In the following folder there is the config.toml file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ranorex\Agent\Data
You can change the ApiPort in that file. After that, you have to connect to the agent with the string: <IPaddress>:<port> or, for example "localhost:8082".

In the folder mentioned above there is also a subfolder named "logs". Please post the newest log file with your next post.

Hi McTurtle,

I changed the port to 8082. Everything runs like before, i.e. the agent is displayed as Idle while it is actually busy.

Please find attached the logfile. I changed some individual information in the file.

Hello everyone,

We found the reason to this issue.
It appears if you have set a different system time on your machines.
If the agent PC time is behind the system time of the machine on which Ranorex Studio is running (by even just a few seconds), the agent status will not be updated in Ranorex Studio.
Please synchronize the time on both of your machines in order to resolve this issue.
