Test module 'XXX' has been deleted and is still referenced by test suite file 'xxx'. - xxx.rxtst

I had a merge error where some recordings were deleted (still no idea why) but I restored them (.cs, .rxrec). But I am unable to make my project running again because Ranorex still says that the modules were deleted.

"Test module 'XXX' has been deleted and is still referenced by test suite file 'xxx'. - xxx.rxtst"

I cant find any function to relink the existing recordings to the module browser. When I click on the warning in the error console I just get the option to delete it entirely from the test suite but then I would have to create my test suites again... I would do it manually in the XMLs but I cant find where.

Please help. These merge errors of the automatic ranorex merger and destroyed projects cost a lot of time to repair.

Hello nikolang,

I'm sorry that you have troubles after merging your project. May I ask if the recordings are still available in the TestSuite (in XML)? Are the id's of the Recordings correct in your Test Suite?
Is it possible to revert the whole solution to an earlier version and re-add your recordings to the test suite by the "Add existing item" in your project context menu?

Regards,
Bernhard

I wanted to relink the files manually but in what files are the paths to the .rxrec/.cs files stored? The ids in the .rxrec and the test suite files match.

Hi nikolang,

The recording files are referenced in the rxtst and the csproj file. Does that mean you cannot add the recording to the solution in Ranorex Studio by using the context menu?
Would you mind creating a support ticket and provide a compressed copy of your Ranorex Solution?
