Module Groups in Ranorex Test Suite Module Library

I'm creating a common library (Ranorex Test Suite Module Library) containing Recordings and User Code that will be used in multiple projects, but it doesn't look like I can use Module Groups.

I have a Module Groups file in my common library with a couple of groups defined, but when I add my common library as a reference to one of my projects, I cannot see the groups.

Are Module Groups not supported in the Ranorex Test Suite Module Library?

Assuming that they are not supported, the second issue I have found is that I cannot add Recordings or User Code from my common library to Module Groups inside my project.

This time, the Module Groups file is inside my project not the common library, and when I try to drag and drop one of my Recordings or User Code from my common library into a Module Group, I get an error that says "Can not add modules from another project."

Is this also not supported?

Is there any way to leverage the capability of Module Groups with a common library (Ranorex Test Suite Module Library)? This would really help reduce the amount of repetitive work we have to do...

Hello DMyers,

Thank you for your posting.

Unfortunately, it's currently not possible to add a Module Group from a referenced project to your current project. You are not allowed to add a referenced (recording/code) module to your Module Group of your current project as well. In this case, you should get a warning that this is not possible (in our current version).

I have forwarded your feature request to our internal bug-tracking system in order to discuss a possible future implementation of it.

Regards,
