How can I spy the objects inside Ranorex Studio?

I don't think it's possible to track the RanorexStudio elements. Spy seems ignore RanorexStudio process. What would you do that for?

Pavel is correct. Ranorex ignores itself when tracking objects on screen. You cannot automate Ranorex using Ranorex.

I can see no reason that anyone outside of Ranorex themselves would need or want to do this. Can you enlighten us as to why you want this?

Maybe there is some other way to do what you are wanting?

I am doing automation on Mobile device & there is scenario where we need to reset the device using automation and then do some functionality.

So,after resetting the device the device is disconnected and we need to manully connect the device to ranorex using device icon available.So for this I want to spy all the objects and automate that scenario.

If there is any alternate way of doing this please suggest me.

May I ask you to answer following questions?

• Which mobile devices do you use? (Android, iOS)
• How do you “reset” the device? Please give additional details on the automated steps.
• Do you connect the devices via USB or Wi-Fi?

Note: As already mentioned, it's not possible to automate Ranorex Studio itself.

Hi,

1.I am using Android device
2.The device which i am using has a reset option in 'Settings'.So there is a test case to reset the device and do some verification.So for that we are automating the reset option by touching the reset button.
3.Yes,we are connecting the device USB.

Unfortunately I'm still not exactly sure how you achieve the reset of your device since Ranorex is currently not able to automate system apps. May I ask you to explain the procedure in more detail?

Hi Robert,

I mean to say that the device which I am using has option called 'Settings' under which there is option called 'Reset'.So by touching reset we are resetting the device.

So once touching reset option the device will be disconnected.
