New to the world of testing

Hello everyone,
I am new to the aspect of testing and could use any guidance available to help me better my understanding of how to use this software. I've not spent much time around computers, having worked as skilled labor for many years, and now find myself pursuing a less physically demanding career path due to a battle with cancer. I have been working with a PHP based testing platform for about 6 months that has been very limited in what it can do. Now the company I work for needs me to determine what platform would be best suited to our needs. I have submitted a request for a demonstration and for a call back with no responses to date for a demonstration from anyone at Ranorex, so I decided to see if anyone in here could help me to figure out if this platform can meet our requirements. I tried watching the videos, and while somewhat helpful, they didn't answer anything relating to the criteria set by the company.
The rundown: Needs to operate multiple browsers, view source code for string checks, interact with multiple applications fluidly, operate off of a VM stored on a secondary hard drive, run multiple scripts back to back with accurate logging and error recording, and, of course, be quick about performance.
If anyone could be a help in this please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.
