Hi Everyone,

I am evaluating Ranorex for Web and Mobile test automation.
I am trying to record some steps with RxBrrowser on mobile device and replay it.
I am getting an error when I am starting recording:
Ranorex-Error-at-the-start-ofrecording.PNG
I tried to change timeouts up to 30sec within Global settings.
I got the following Settings for Ranorex Service:
Launch App Delay = 2000 ms
Close App Callback Delay = 3000 ms
Send App Command Timeout = 30000 ms
Message display duration = 2500 ms
Maximum disable Events Duration 10000 ms
Maximum Log File Size = 500 KB

I got the following mobile device:
iPod Touch 16GB
iOS version 9.2
USB connection
Ranorex Service version 2.1.1

Could some one help me with it? Any idea to how I have proceed forward?

Thanks,
Felix.

Hi Felix,

Have you tried longer connection timeout (e.g. 2m)? Instead of selecting a predefined timeout (max 30s), simply enter your own value ;)

Additionally, try the Wifi connection, instead of USB. Wifi connection is generally considered to be a more reliable way to connect with mobile device.

Thanks odklizec for reply and yes, I tried to set it to 2m and to 5m and to use WIFI connection. But I got same error.

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to provide with more details.
If I start app on iPod manually Ranorex Studio shows it immediately within Devices section as Running App.
So it looks like inbound (from device to Ranorex) communication is OK, but outbound (from Ranorex to device) communication doesn't work as it should be.

Thanks,
Felix.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to all of you for help.

I found what was the issue with app start. Windows firewall was blocking outbound commands.
I just disable firewall and it started to respond as expected.

Thanks,
Felix.
