Hi,
My ranorex version is 6.1.1. and I have .rxtst file with large number of test cases along with excel data connectors. As soon as I open my project in Ranorex studio and open .rxtst file, all the excel processes are created and i am not able to use ranorex until all the excel files in .rxtst test data are created. It is affecting my laptop performance also. This problem suddenly came up and is happening on my machine only. The same project can be opened in other machines where the excel processes are not created at the time of opening .rxtst file.

I uninstalled the ranorex and installed it again in order to see if the issue is gone but it is still persistent.

P.S. - "Auto-load data when test suite opens" is selected for all the test-cases.
Even when above setting is checked, in other machines the excel process is created only when we run that particular test and not while opening the rxtst file.

As .rxtst is an xml file, is there an option to remove the auto-load setting of all test cases in one go?

Any help is highly appreciated.

It seems that Ranorex does not save the default setting for auto loading the data in the test suite xml file.
I guess you need to add the following line manually for every Excel data connector you are using.

autoload="False"

This line should be placed between the "id" and the "lastknownrowcount" attribute within the <DataSource> tag Out of curiosity, how many Excel Data connectors does your current test suite have?

I have 1500+ excel data connectors in my project.

My question is there is autoLoad="True" setting by default and in other machines, this excel.exe creation behavior is not seen. It is happening only on my machine.

The excel.exe process is generated, when we open that data connector and not before that - which is actually what should happen.

I am thinking maybe some environment variables/registry entries are affecting the ranorex, which is why i am seeing this behavior.
