Hi,

I must be doing something terribly wrong, but somehow I just can't seem to get it right.

Recently I upgraded Ranorex from 5.4 to 6.2.1.
When opened any solution was upgraded correctly.

However, today when opening a recently upgraded solution I got these error messages.

The exception log says:
Ranorex.Tools.CommonVersionUpgrader.VersionUnknownExceptio
n: Upgrading from unrecognized version is not supported. The file
you are trying to open has an unknown Ranorex version.

Okay, definitely a wrong version, but how did this happen (it was upgraded to 6.2.1 without any problem whatsoever), but more important... how do I solve this problem?

The attachment shows the error message and exception log.

Help is very welcome.

Regards

Eelco

Is it possible this file was manually changed? Are you able to provide a zip of your broken 6.2.1 solution and the zipped 5.4 solution backup? This backup is located in the root folder of your new solution.

Hi,

I've never experienced problem like this. And I'm afraid, it's hard to say what's wrong (and what caused it) without examining the corrupted solution. Anyway, the easiest way to "fix" this issue should be reloading the last good solution from version control system (SVN, TFS, GIT,...). I hope you are using one? If not, this is exactly a reason why you should adopt one right now!
