Ranorex crashes on build

Hi, I upgraded to Ranorex 7.1,
first few runs/builds were ok, but now Ranorex crashes every time I try to run/build a project.
(It happens on two separate PC's and on demo solutions from Ranorex.)
When I Installed 7.0.1 again, it all works ok.

Also, on 7.0.1, when I randomly run recordings, sometimes Ranorex just closes during a build, and I have to restart windows and repair installation to fix it (I have exceptions for Ranorex on Avast).

Hello IMamic23,

Thank you for posting your question in the Ranorex forum.

It appears that the Avast antivirus scanner is locking or removing needed files, and Ranorex software will have to be white-listed in order for it to function, and installing the Ranorex software again might be required to ensure all needed files are present.

Ranorex software installs to the following directory in windows by default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ranorex 7.1

You may also need to white list the solution directories that you create as well. Please involve your local IT department, because it likely requires elevated privileges to bypass the company antivirus protection.

In your error there is a line that sticks out "Exception code: 0xe0434352", because this means .NET issues on the system, and making sure the computer has all the windows updates installed correctly, or installing .NET again might be required, but we need to make sure the antivirus is not removing the files first.

In the future if you have an issue that is stopping you from working please send email to [email protected] (USA Time zones) or [email protected] (European time zones or worldwide), and we will be happy to assist you.

I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
