Build fails because nuget packages not restored automaticall

Hi,

we recently switched from Ranorex 7.0 to version 8.1.1. Now we face the following situation:

We have a .NET project which has a code-analyser defined as a nuget package. This project is shared among all test solutions and added to them in source. Testers as well as developers build these Ranorex solutions locally. Developers have Visual Studio installed; Testers do not.

With the older Ranorex version, everything was built fine. With Ranorex 8.1.1, testers can still built the test solutions fine. Developers, however, have to select "Restore Packages" manually before being able to build a solution.

Why is there a difference between having Visual Studio installed (developers) or not (testers)? Is there an easy way to have packages being restored automatically?

Thank you.

Hello Richard,

Thank you for reporting this issue.
I was able to replicate part of the issue. Unfortunately, the packages also don't restore automatically for me on machines where Visual Studio is not installed. Therefore, we would have to analyze this issue in more detail. Please create a ticket via our support form and mention in the ticket that you were already in contact with me via the forum. You can find our support form under the following link: Support Query

I am looking forward to your ticket.

Sincerely,
Tomaž
