Multiple test cases in same browser and same machine

Hello Team,

we have following query:

For a web-app , is it possible to run different test cases in parallel in separate firefox-browser sessions on same machine( Note : Not cross browser testing but multiple sessions of same browser (Firefox) on same machine)

If this is not possible , what is Ranorex’s capability way to execute multiple test cases in parallel and get a consolidated report.

Hi,

I’m afraid, what you are looking for is not possible with Ranorex. Ranorex is a ‘single user’ UI test automation tool, not the load/stress test tool. What you need is something like Neoload, which does exactly what you want, running web tests in parallel. There is even some kind of integration of Neoload and Ranorex, but to be quite honest, I found the standalone usage of Neoload much less complicated and the results were much more detailed ;)

Hi,

Yes, Neoload can do that. However, it means you will have to learn another tool ;) If I'm not mistaken, basic license of Neoload, with 50 virtual users, is free. If you want more VUs, you need to pay. Another good load/stress testing tool is LoadRunner. LR is so-called standard for stress/load testing, but I liked Neoload better. It's younger, looks and feels fresh and it's relative easy to learn. There are many common points with Ranorex. So if you like Ranorex, you may like Neoload too ;)

Hello Odklizec,

thanks for the response.

Our intention to run multiple test cases in parallel is to reduce overall execution time (not for load/stress testing).
Is there is any way in Ranorex to thread execution on different machines and still get a consolidated report for all test cases.

I see. Well, I'm afraid, the answer is the same. There is currently no way to achieve what you want. But you can create a feature request here:

Actually, there is already a feature request similar to yours and also with comment from Ranorex folks:
