My company is trying to decide on an automation toold and we are now at a juncture where we are trying to decide to choose between Ranorex or Katalon. Can you please help me in understanding the benifits of Ranorex vs Katalon.

The best thing you can do is to start a small TA demo project, both in Ranorex and Katalon and then decide, which one serves your needs best.

I would say that the main difference between these two TA apps is, that Ranorex handles desktop, web and mobile apps, while Katalon appears to support only webs and mobile apps (via selenium and appium integration) + API testing? So if you are going to automate only web-based apps, both Ranorex and Katalon should work fine for you. You just need to decide, which one works best for you

Also, I would suggest you to scan both forums, to find out, which one is more active and more useful! Without active community of users/developers and active support involvement, usage of any TA tool is painful experience.
