Can we test browsers on mobile devices with new release

Hi, I saw that 5.1 is out and now supports Android. Have you guys added the ability to test the browsers on mobile devices yet? I know you didn't support this initially, so I have not been paying attention.

Our app is browser based (client/server asp pages) and I have many desktop scripts that run under IE/FF/and Chrome. I would love to get into mobile testing, but need to be able to use Chrome on the Android, or the iOS browser on the iPhone/iPad.

Hello Aracknid,

Unfortunately we do not support mobile browsers such as Chrome, Safari, etc., but we released our own “RxBrowser” with Ranorex 5.1. This feature empowers you to create and replay mobile web tests.

Further information about our latest version (Ranorex 5.1) can be found here: http://www.ranorex.com/free-trial/relea ... html#c7301

Robert

I guess at some point I'll have to look into this. I do know that we only support Chrome on Android devices or Safari on iOS and that we have code to display differently or have controls behave differently for these browsers. I would assume that using the RxBrowser I'd have issues, but I guess I won't know until I try.

I really do hope that one day you add support for the 2 browsers as I'd really like to get into mobile testing.

By the way, can you point me to examples on how to use the RxBrowser for those of us that don't use Studio. I'm using VisualStudio and the Ranorex API only.

Thanks.

Hello Aracknid,

Unfortunately there is no example on how to use RxBrowser. That’s mainly because there is effectively no difference between the RxBrowser and any other mobile application. Please find all available methods within our online API documentation.
