Hello Team,

I am performing feasibility check on our desktop product which is AutoCAD based.
After I perform record and playback on AutoCAD based product and come back to Ranorex studio, the
mouse cursor goes missing. Please refer to attached video to help understand better. Also, can you provide a workaround for now, so that I can go ahead and continue with my feasibility check?

In order to analyze your issue in detail I would need some additional information.
May I ask you to answer these questions:

• Which version of Ranorex is installed on your machine?
  As I can see in your video, Ranorex is running on a virtual machine.
  • Does this problem also occur in other projects?

1) I have Ranorex 5.0.1 installed.
2) The product I am testing has different modules, one of which is AutoCAD based. I have checked on other module(which is not AutoCAD based and also installed on virtual machine) and the mentioned issue does not occur on that module.
We have the product installed on Virtual Machine and so Ranorex is installed on the same VM.

Is it possible to have Ranorex installed on a desktop machine and still be able to automate products installed on Virtual machine?

Please let me know if any further information is required.

Ranorex must be installed on the system where the application under test (AUT) will be executed. Ranorex cannot identify or manipulate objects that are not on the same desktop. It will not work with Ranorex on the host and the AUT on the guest/VM.

Thank you for the information.
Is it possible for you to test your application on a local machine? So we can exclude the virtual machine as an error source.
Regarding your question about automate software which is running on a virtual machine:
As krstcs already mentioned, this is not possible.

Thank you for trying the application on a local machine, so we can exclude the virtual machine as an error source.
