X-UA-Compatible setting in Internet Explorer

Post by JSH_QA » Wed Aug 06, 2014 11:13 am

When automating use of Internet Explorer from coded Ranorex tests, is there anything in the Ranorex API that allows specification of the Internet Explorer compatibility mode to use (the X-UA-Compatible setting) when a browser is opened?

Whilst our application under test is targeted at IE 10 and IE 11 (as well as other browsers), we also need to test it when IE Compatibility mode settings are in force.

Many thanks,

John H.

Hi John,

Unfortunately there is no out-of-the-box solution to open IE in compatibility mode.

But you can for instance record the steps which are necessary to enable the compatibility mode in IE.

There are several ways to enable this mode during a session. For more Information please have a look at this website.

Please note: the steps mentioned on this site are only for IE 9, if you are using a newer version of Internet Explorer you have to use the Developer Options in order to enable the compatibility mode.
