Customer Profile

Oska Bilgisayar Sistemleri develops HakedişPlus, a comprehensive desktop engineering/construction software. With more than 400 unique screens and a fixed release cycle every two months, maintaining software quality requires consistent testing across a large and evolving application. As the product grew, the team needed a more scalable way to validate critical functionality and reduce the risk of defects reaching customers.

The Challenge

Before adopting Ranorex, testing was performed manually and supplemented by customer feedback collected through an eight-person support team. Those support specialists were deeply familiar with how customers used the software, making them a valuable source of product knowledge. However, quality assurance was only one of their responsibilities.

During normal development, support team members spent one to two hours per day performing manual testing. Ahead of releases, that effort increased to as much as five or six hours per day per person. Even with that investment, complete regression coverage was impossible.

400+ Screens, Limited Regression Coverage

HakedişPlus contains more than 400 unique screens. The team recognized that manually testing every workflow before each release was unrealistic. As the application expanded, maintaining regression coverage became increasingly difficult.

Hidden Defects Remained Undetected

The limitations of manual testing became clear once automation was introduced. More than 20 long-standing defects were uncovered in complex workflows that manual testing had failed to identify. Without automated regression testing, those issues would likely have continued reaching customers.

No Dedicated QA Function

At the time, Oska did not have a dedicated QA engineer. Testing responsibilities were distributed across the support organization, limiting the team's ability to build a systematic quality process.

"Ranorex has empowered us to automate a vast library of over 300 screens, identifying dozens of improvements that were previously missed during manual testing. This shift to automated quality control is significantly enhancing our development speed and ensuring that our customers receive the most stable version of our software."

— Gökhan Süt, Senior Software Development Manager & System Architect, Oska Bilgisayar Sistemleri

Result

Rather than changing its release schedule, Oska focused on improving confidence within its existing development process. The team began by prioritizing automation for approximately 80 of the application's most critical screens and built more than 50 automated test scenarios within the first months of adoption. Today, automated regression tests run after code updates, helping the team identify issues earlier and reduce reliance on time-consuming manual validation.

20+ Long-Standing Defects Identified Before Release

Within the first two months of automated testing, Ranorex Studio uncovered more than 20 defects that had gone undetected for years during manual testing. Each issue generated a fix request, allowing the team to resolve problems before customers encountered them.

50–100 Manual Testing Hours Saved Per Test Cycle

Previously, executing more than 50 regression scenarios manually required an estimated 50 to 100 hours of effort per testing cycle. Those same scenarios can now run automatically, reducing repetitive work and allowing team members to focus on higher-value activities.

A QA Function
Begins to Take Shape

Before Ranorex, testing was a shared responsibility handled by support staff. Today, Oska has hired a dedicated Junior QA Engineer and invested in automation skills internally, training a support team member to develop automated test scenarios. The company isn't simply running more tests—it's building a quality organization capable of scaling alongside the product.

Fast Integration with Existing Tools

The team integrated Ranorex with Azure DevOps in just two days, including time to learn the platform and configure permissions. Jira integration is also underway as part of a broader company-wide migration effort.

Building Toward Greater Release Confidence

Oska plans to expand its automated testing library to 200–300 scenarios by the end of the year. Looking further ahead, the team expects that reaching 300 to 400 automated scenarios will significantly reduce post-release defects and further increase confidence in every release.

Looking Ahead

For Oska, test automation is no longer simply a way to reduce manual effort. It has become a framework for improving software quality, strengthening release confidence, and building a scalable QA process around a growing product. As automated coverage continues to expand, the team is moving toward a future where quality validation is consistent, repeatable, and embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
